Willow Garden ~ Somatic Experiencing
Thank you so much for your interest in this Somatic Experiencing (SE) course! I’m Kaylen, a second-level SE student, and trauma-informed practitioner. This project is part of my training and is close to my heart — my goal is to offer you gentle support as we explore body-based tools for healing and wellness.
What is Somatic Experiencing (SE)?
Somatic Experiencing is a body-centered approach to healing trauma and chronic stress. It gently helps you reconnect with your body’s natural rhythms and capacity for regulation, using awareness of physical sensations, breath, and movement to release held tension and restore a sense of safety.
Instead of diving into overwhelming memories or emotions, SE focuses on building your nervous system’s resilience — often through subtle shifts in posture, sensation, or imagery. The goal is not to relive the past, but to complete survival responses that may be stuck in the body.
Benefits of SE can include: Improved ability to manage stress. Increased emotional and physical regulation. Greater connection to your body and boundaries. Reduction in chronic tension, overwhelm, or freeze states. A sense of safety, ease, and aliveness
What sessions are like:
Each session is unique and suited to your pace. I’ll guide you in noticing what’s happening in your body, supporting you in tracking sensations, finding resources, and bringing your nervous system into a state of safety. You’re always in charge of what feels best — there’s no pressure to talk about or participate in anything before you’re ready.
You’ll be invited to fill out a short intake form and check in with a pre/post self-assessment. These will help both of us track your progress and make sure the work is serving you.
If you’re ready to try out somatic work for yourself, please fill out the sign up form and you’ll receive the introductory information via email. You can discontinue at any time, and I am currently offering sessions free of charge. If you have any other questions at all, I’m here!
I look forward to working with you and creating a space of compassion, curiosity, and nervous system care.
